Morgen is both a network of local student organizations, as well as a national volunteer organization. We work together with students across the Netherlands to inform other students about sustainability as well as to organize projects on sustainability. Furthermore we strive to make the higher education institutions in the Netherlands more sustainable, with a strong focus on the role of students in this process. Morgen focuses on the present in order to create a more sustainable future.
The aim of Morgen is:
- to promote awareness about sustainable development among students and all other involved in Higher Education institutions
- to promote the integration of sustainable development in education, research and operational management of higher education
- to inform and support local student organisations and individual students in the field of sustainable development in higher education and student life
- to advance the collaboration between local student organizations in the field of sustainable development
In her activities, Morgen uses the definition of sustainable development as stated in Our Common Future, also known as the Brundtland report: “Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
