{"id":612,"date":"2014-05-28T11:49:35","date_gmt":"2014-05-28T11:49:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.studentenvoormorgen.nl\/?page_id=612"},"modified":"2018-08-01T13:37:35","modified_gmt":"2018-08-01T12:37:35","slug":"green-offices-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.studentenvoormorgen.nl\/en\/green-offices-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Green Offices"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>What is a Green Office?<\/h2>\n<p>A Green Office is a student driven and staff supported institute within the institute of higher education, with the\u00a0primary goal to help the university becoming more sustainable in all its dimensions.\u00a0The Green Office Model according to <a href=\"http:\/\/rootability.com\/\">rootAbility<\/a> consists of <a href=\"http:\/\/rootability.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/rootAbility_Green-Office-Model_Six-principles-and-their-adaptation-range_Feb-20151.pdf\">6 principles<\/a>: it consists of students and staff, has an official mandate to enhance sustainability in the institute of higher education and receives resources to achieve this, is integrated into the institution\u2019s organizational structure, collaborates with internal and external stakeholder and learns how to achieve this change through training. This means both in its academic role as its operations. The academic role is about the universities role in society: what do we teach our students? Does the research conducted in the university lead to a more sustainable world? How are we engaging students and staff for sustainability? They are also helping new GO&#8217;s to lobby and set up a new GO. After that, multiple universities in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Sweden and the UK followed their example.
